This comic strip trend that has been tip toeing its way into the highstreet from the catwalks ready for summer is something I'm really looking forward to playing with. Fun and playful, it will be good to make the most of the quirky pieces that I usually have to source from Black Milk or Lazy Oaf and mixing them up with pops of primary colour for a laidback summer look...

It occurred to me the other day that if we put aside these bizarre radical shifts in weather conditions we've been having lately - seriously, we're forecast snow again! - we're almost through the winter here in the UK. Thank Christ. As much as I love playing 'how-many-jumpers-can-I-fit-under-the-jacket-I want-to-wear-so-I-don't-freeze', I'm much more of a summer kind of girl...

Today is the joint birthday of my beautiful Step Mum Toni and my soul meltingly adorable niece Isabelle. So before Issi had her birthday tea party and the house was overrun with sugar loaded children; Dad, T and I popped in to my brother's house to trade gifts and cuddles...

A few months ago I watched avidly as Mary Portas resurrected a redundant clothing factory, hired a team of unemployed job seekers and trained them up to be seamstresses. Together, they launched a new underwear brand called 'Kinky Knickers', made entirely of British materials and manufactured here in the UK...

It hit me a little while ago that as much as I love clothes, I didn't have room to store any more. I did a thorough but frugal clean out and kept everything that I knew without doubt I would wear again, everything else was culled. What was left perfectly occupied the storage space I have. In short, no more shopping...

It's a very strange duality, the winter sun. So cold you can see the breath, tangibly, as it escapes you and at the same time shielding your eyes from the sun's glare. There's nothing but beauty in it, in my oppinion - it's cleansing, refreshing, replenishing - but it's still a nightmare to dress for...

We don't get snow very often. We're surrounded on three sides by water here and something about the sea air and the geographical proximity to the Welsh mountains means that little snow apparently has the determination to make it. These are the first settled flakes in several years, and despite the nausance it becomes to travel and near frostbite to ears and other extremities, I really do relish the beauty...

It was just before Christmas when we stumbled upon Providero whilst doing a little bit of last minute Christmas shopping. It was the little restored French Citroen H-Van that first drew our attention, followed swiftly by the delicious scent of the finest espresso based coffees, crafted lovingly and expertly by barista and proprietor Jon Hughes...

With the help of a truly amazing tutorial from Sea Of Shoes, I spent the morning trying to perfect various pastry shapes on my head by way of a pin up quif. I was somewhat limited by the length of my hair, and couldn't nearly manage a coif of the majesty Jane created, but I was pretty pleased with the result...
