Today is my little sister's eighth birthday. As you can imagine, she was terribly excited. We've been treated to a daily countdown that started about a month ago, but today was finally the day! Happy Birthday Gabrielle!

I baked her a chocolate cake last night and went round to my Grandad's with the rest of my siblings that aren't off on their holidays. The blowing out of the birthday candles brought a little bit of hilarity, since my Mum had accidentally bought joke re-lighting candles. The poor child was standing there huffing for a good ten minutes before dizziness got the better of her and I put out the stubborn ones under the tap. All in all, she said she had a great day, and is now counting down the days until her birthday party with her friends in September. Ah, to be a child again ...
