« Manga »

My affiliation for Japanese manga style sparked when I was about thirteen. There was a character called Pukka that I first spotted in Ibiza with my Dad, and with my birthday money when we got home, I bought just about every item with her on that I could find. Years later, I'm finding myself in a similar position with the Momiji dolls. What started as an unconscious accumulation has turned into quite a viscous collecting addiction, and of course that's without even mentioning my thing for Hello Kitty. So the Manga Girl Dress from Black Milk is right up my street, and I've been waiting and waiting to get my hands on it.

There are a few different ways of styling this dress that immediately sprang to mind, but I thought sticking to the spirit of manga was probably the best bet first and foremost. The white tights and co-ordinating DM's gave a subtle nod to cosplay while the denim shirt just dressed it down a notch. The colours are really beautiful and, even though I really hate to be thinking about it right now, I know this dress will be just as wearable in the winter with thick knits as it is on a sunny day like today.
