No outfits fall together easier than those that begin with a Fred Perry polo shirt. It has such an entity all of it's own and such a defined and succinct style, that's it's very easy just to add to it with a skirt here and a pair of shoes there. It's both a statement and an understatement, retro and modern.

In fact, it's something I'm learning to appreciate more and more these days; brands that have their own style - a style that hasn't budged an inch for years, decades even. It really says something when the signature pieces of their collection stick it out through each season, with only occasional tweaks to colour palettes. They're not a slave to fashion or trends, they are timeless and classic, but still current. It makes me think that this is what I need more of in my life, not fast fashion that changes within a matter of weeks, but items that I'll still be wearing in years to come.
