« The Transition »

It's getting to that time of year where, whether I want to or not, I'm going to have to start looking at preparing my winter wardrobe. In my one bedroom flat, I'm really limited on storage space, so I have to be clever with my picks. It also means that I try my best to cross over as much as I can from my summer wardrobe to my winter and vice versa.

At the very top of my list is always tights. Black tights are basic enough to go with absolutely everything and one of the best ways to bridge the gap between what you can wear from season to season. A skirt or a dress I might wear with bare legs in the summer, I can team with thick denier tights that keep me as warm as jeans but offer more flexibility. Tights are also always my go-to to layer under leggings in the colder months to trap the heat and stop it from escaping my body. So, all in all, a must have basic.

The best tights I've ever found are from Topshop and, believe me, I've tried and tested hosiery from almost everywhere. Their 3D shine 80 and 120 den tights give a great sheen, an all over opacity and don't rip or ladder easily. I got my hands on a small mountain worth this week to replace my current collection that have seen better days. Stocking up means that on chillier outings like today, I can still wear one of my favourite skirts - like the Black Milk Cathedral - and not have to worry about freezing.

Looks like it's goodbye summer!
