When you're handed an unexpected day of summer, it'd be rude not to take advantage.
So just as we began to think Summer had bailed on us, in she bursts into the party - an arrogant swagger to her hips. A jump from low teens to high twenties, it's just the way she rolls. And damn if I'm going to complain about it.
I dove straight to the long forgotten back-of-drawer to pull out my vintage Levi's cut offs and hastily shaved my pasty legs. I may look like the milky bar kid, but I was determined to absorb as much vitamin D as possible without getting indecent. Really, no one needs to see that.
We decided to make a mini holiday out of the day. We hopped in the car and drove to North Wales, stopping only when we got to our favourite spot in Betws-y-Coed, which is somewhere in the simultaneously vicinity of the chippy, the ice cream shop and the waterfall. Because, seriously, what else could you need on a sunny day?
The change of scenery gave me some much needed head space and fresh air, a chance to take a step back from the every day for the chance to enjoy today. Exactly what I needed.
