An amalgamation of my most consuming creative passions; Positively Melancholy is literally a map of the left side of my brain. By 'me', I mean Stephanie Lynn: photographer, writer, fashion addict.

Corazon Tattoos

|

10 Images

I find myself trying to think of excuses to head back to Corazon Tattoo, simply because the staff are amazing, as is the general atmosphere - with the distant buzzing, the art filled walls and easy conversation that fills the space - and the cutest little Boston Terrier, named Paulie, that runs around the reception, dropping his ball on your foot in an obvious hint for play time.

I’ve visited a few times, for piercings in my ears or consultations on the two tattoos I’ve had there. But today I went back to add to my original feather tattoo: after living with it for a while, I found it just wasn’t quite right - my fault entirely, I clearly just got too excited and went in with the first image I found that was close.

I can’t decide what was funnier, the expression on Jen, the body piercer’s, face when I mistakenly used ‘take out this bit’, rather than ‘fill in’, suggesting that I perhaps thought it could be rubbed out with a magic eraser, or my own inability to describe what I wanted as anything other than ‘a bushier feather’.

It all worked out fine though, and I came away with exactly what I was hoping for. Dave, the owner and my tattooist, even allowed me to run around the shop with my camera, becoming instantly fascinated with the equipment and the way that Angie was working on her most recent piece. These are just a few snaps.
